Hundreds of the most innovative and ambitious young entrepreneurs of the nation are all set to match their entrepreneurial acumen in The National Apprentice Challenge. Tipped to be the largest residential enterprise competition in the UK, this years edition of The National Apprentice Challenge aims to encourage thousands of students to be more entrepreneurial by showcasing the brightest of the countrys future. This award winning program will reach at least 100,000 students this year as it will be distributed to hundred campuses in different corners of the country. In addition to a cash prize of 5,000, the winning team of four will also receive an invitation to Sir Richard Bransons house and plenty of potential business investment opportunities (100,000 was offered in 2013).

Talking about the unique idea of filming and distributing the video episodes of the program, the co-founder and director of The National Apprentice Challenge Simona Popa said, There are thousands of students out there capable of starting their own business, but lacking the confidence and the motivation to do so. By filming this program, we aim to showcase the extraordinary potential of young entrepreneurs in the UK for peer-to-peer motivation.

The National Apprentice Challenge was started by Simona Popa in the year 2012 with just ten teams from seven universities. In the very next year, the program emerged as the largest residential program with several prestigious awards coming its way. This includes the National Award for Student Enterprise Education from Enterprise Educators UK and were recognised as a top programme creating a positive social impact. The competition involves intensive practical business challenges such as building profitable business in less than two days. The semi-final of this years National Apprentice Challenge will take place on the 28th and 29th of March in the Birmingham Town Hall. The top six teams from the semi-final will qualify to take part in the National Finals to be held at One Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London on the 5th and 6th of April.

The National Apprentice Challenge is probably the most sincere initiative till date to promote entrepreneurship in the top campuses of the country. More programs like this would certainly inspire Universities to prepare their students for the real world of business by engaging with more entrepreneurial activities. Potential funding opportunities are also offered to the contestants during the program. A whopping 100,000 was offered last year in the form of grants and investments. This year, the event will be sponsored by the Trinity Mirror Group and presided over by the leader of Birmingham City council Sir Albert Bore.
